Question: Should my asus netbook be faster?
(Posted by: 1Man1God on 2009-12-30 21:37:44)
I bought the asus 1005ha netbook from newegg. http:/ / www.newegg.com/ Product/ Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220551 &cm_re=asus_1005ha- _- 34- 220- 551- _- Product i then installed windows 7 pro on it, and it worked pretty good. although i would get lag during streaming some youtube videos and most hulu videos, especially on full screen. so i bought a kingston 2 gb ram stick. a pc6400 just like the one that came in it, i knew it wouldnt be faster, but everyone said it makes a huge difference to add the extra gig of ram. http:/ / www.bestbuy.com/ site/ Kingston+Technology+- +Platinum+Series+2GB+PC2- 6400+DDR2+Laptop+Memory/ 8986332.p?id=1218005634725 &skuId=8986332 anyways video streaming is still painful and i cant play torchlight at all, there is a netbook mode but it is still to painful to bare. is there a reason my netbook is so slow? is anyone else suffering these issues too, i know this netbook lacked much in resources but others are bragging about its speed and i want to make sure its not just a faulty machine. best answer gets voted by me |

Windows 7 was NOT developed for Netbooks or |Notebooks systems Now read on If you had to review all my answers to this same question which I have repeated over and over again a thousand times It's not your memory it's not your computer it's the operating system windows, that's your big problem, you went out and got windows 7 Pro expecting your NetBook computer to perform better and it has not performed any better, does that not tell you something? You like everyone else will have been forced into buying a netbook with some version of windows installed on it, You like everyone else have upgraded your windows version because of problems, and you still have the same problems, Until you admit to yourself that windows is the problem then you will have problems Once again windows 7 was NOT developed for Netbooks or |Notebooks systems. It was cut down to the bear bones so that it would run on these low end systems. Now you should be looking at Linux the operating system that was developed for these systems the system that takes 30 seconds from switching on to getting on the net, that will stream video's without problems. There are several Free Linux Operating Systems available to download one from Intel for the Atom processor called Moblin Linux, then there is Ubuntu Linux check out these links google.com/ search?q= moblin+ 2.1 &ie= utf-8 &oe= utf-8 &aq= t &rls= com.ubuntu:en-US:official &client= firefox-a ubuntu.com/ GetUbuntu/ download-netbook this is the best |

Try updating drivers from Intel intel.com/ support/ detect.htm?iid= dc_spotlight_home1 Try running with Superfetch turned off howtogeek.com/ howto/ windows-vista/ how-to-disable-superfetch-on-windows-vista/ Review on Newegg > > Cons: "Just a little more underpowered than I expected. I'm not expecting to play new games on it. the biggest disappointment was trying to watch hulu on it even pluged directly into my 7meg dsl with no other programs running. the video was glitchy just from the processor.
