Question: When i installed new ram to my laptop it beeps an few times, is the ram faulty or incompatible?

When I install my new ram my laptop beeps and doesn't even try to boot up? is this a sign of a dead ram or incompatible ram?

The beep codes will tell you whether the RAM is recognized or not but if the machine boots without the RAM it would probably be incompatible

Could be either one, get that ram out and put the old back in again and go here. crucial.com scan your computer and get exactly what you need. There a touch high but they guarantee there product forever. Actually it is the best you can buy.
