Fix for HP mini netbook screen flickers?
My HP mini netbook 1000 screen randomly flickers and then goes black. When I adjust the screen or pick it up and apply pressure to the bottom left side under keyboard the screen stays lit and flicker free until I move it again. I am no longer under warranty and HP wants about what I paid for it for me to send it in and fix it, so can someone give me some suggestions on fixing this myself or point me to some good links? Any help would be appreciated, I just don't want this purchase to be a total waste of money. shaun No, no wacky graphics just the flickering and blacking out. Is this cable relatively easy to get to? Shaun Hey thanks for the link and advice. I fixed the problem for anyone who may be experiencing the same problem.I took the whole thing apart and disconnected the display cable and and carefully but very firmly pushed it back into the slot. Be mindful of all of the other fragile wires not to snag them.I ended up taking this thing apart 5 times before I got it right and re connected the display cable properly.Please see the link provided in Shaun's answer for the location of the data cable. HP tech support wanted to charge me $398 to send it to them to fix, that's about what I paid for it, so it was either fix it myself, or sell it on Ebay for parts.One last thing I forgot to mention, before I re connected the display cable I cleaned it gently with a micro fiber cloth and a dab of alcohol.

Ive had the netbook for a couple days now, and the webcam hasnt got an icon or anything. Where do i get the software or download from. It did have just the HP Webcam, but its not the right one, because my cousin has it, and when we were in the shop it had a me cam or something on the dessk top that had loads of effects to choose from, please please please help
ACER mini netbook or HP?

It is a Broadcom Sta wireless card I had Ubuntu running on the mini Netbook, But it ran a little slow. So i decided to install a fresh windows XP. But it didn't have any wireless drivers. And the only drivers i can find are for Linux.Please help
Can vside work well on a HP Mini Netbook?
Okay guys so I used to have Vside on my old computer and than it got a virus from another website so Vside stopped working properly. Now I have a mini netbook and it works pretty good. I just miss going on Vside so I want to know if anyone knows if it would work on a HP mini because I wouldnt want to download it if it is not going to work properly.And can you tell me if it will take up alot of space or freeze my mini.

i really need a decent working computer and I don't have a lot of money. I need it for my sons,it's mainly for help with school work. They will be home schooled next year. I noticed that mini laptops are very cheap and small my question is, can it be hooked to my home cable internet like my old laptop as or do they need a wireless internet connection to work? I mean can they be used hooked up and not wireless? And secondary question, will they do the same type of things a laptop would, like surf the web go on kids web sites you know, computer stuff.
HP Compaq Mini netbook won't boot Win XP, stalls on mup.sys.?
I have an HP Compaq Mini netbook running Windows XP. The last time the computer worked it had the disc cleaning utility run on it, and I believe it was rebooted during this process. After this, the computer won't load up. When trying to load normally, it shows Win XP loading screen then just goes to a black screen. If trying to go into safe mode, it gets stuck at the mup.sys line and will not continue further. Last known configuration just has a quick BSOD flash before the computer reboots.I don't have the original Win XP disc nor do I have a disc drive in the netbook. Any solutions on what may possibly fix this if anything?
