Question: How do i get the wireless icon on my acer netbook?

I just got my acer netbook back from being repaired and when I got it back, there was no wireless icon. I made sure that the wireless was on but this did not do anything. The internet was working fine before I brought it in but since then, I have not been able to connect to the internet. Is there any setting that I might have to turn on or might there be something wrong with my wireless?

First of all lets get your wireless icon back so do this right click START and select PROPERTIES noW select NOTIFICATION AREA look at the SYSTEM ITEMS under this put a tick in the boxes network should be there and press APPLY your icons will now appear in the bottom right now you can start getting back on line by doing this Iam hoping that your link to you router is broken and thats why you cant get on line so turn off your router and restart now do this to restablish your connection shutdown then reboot the router you most probably are trying to connect to an broken or corrupt link in your laptop so here goes Right click your wireless network icon(bottom right of screen Choose (network and sharing centre ) then choose(manage wireless networks) highlight your network if it is there and Choose remove exit this back to desktop Reboot your laptop now left click your wireless icon and this time choose connect when YOUR network name appears connect add your password save the settings and thats you hopefully this will fix your problem if you cant remember your network key download and install this utility it will display your network key only by displaying it from your windoews wireless config i keep it on my desktop just incase I lose or forget it download.cnet.com/ WirelessKeyView
